He has a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from the University of North Carolina, a doctorate in chemical engineering from Northwestern University, and postdoctoral research experience from ETH Zurich. Karthik’s research career has spanned many topics related to the future of food, including bioreactor design, bioengineering, metabolism, and systems/quantitative biology. In his spare time, Karthik enjoys hiking, trying new recipes, playing board games, listening to podcasts, meditating, and reading non-fiction.
